In early 2023, Heeva (Grade 10), noticed that some students in her school seemed to have an advantage over others. Heeva realized that students who were exposed to more opportunities seemed to be more confident and were quickly chasing after their passions and full potential.

Heeva applied to the Youth Creativity Fund to design and run an after school program for children 9 to 11 years old to teach them about leadership and opportunities that are available to them to help them reach their full potential. She was able to launch the program in a local community centre Spring 2023.

Now in Grade 11, Heeva has reapplied to the Youth Creativity Fund and successfully gained funding to expand Learn2Lead to three community centres! Heeva also volunteered here at the BEP for the summer of 2023 and is currently leading a team of Youth Ambassadors with the Youth Creativity Fund through the 2023-2024 school year.
